Police

The main goal of this section is to present key issues related to the role of the police in community policing implementation. Following exemplary issues are planned to be discussed here:

• Building and enhancing trust in the police
• Community policing as a possible source of the police legitimization
• Improving the image of the police
• Possible use of ICT tools in improving police–community relations

This section will be based on evidence-based and problem-solving approaches. It will also address most common challenges in the process of community policing implementation; present chosen relevant best practices, and give general advice on how to adapt best practices from other countries to needs of the local community.
